![]() The man and his music - the history of Madsen.

Madsen did not play anything besides his cd-player until the end of the eighties. He then bought his first six-string (acoustic) and at the time he figured out some of the basic chords he began writing songs. In the autumn of 1990 he teamed up with Søren Iversen (drums), Lars Jørgensen (lead/rhythm guitar) and Niels Kreisholt (bass) and formed the Drive. The band was soon renamed to the Blowfish Dreamers.
After months of rehearsel Jørgensen lost interest and they started searching for a new lead guitarist. Jesper Kreisholt played with them a few times, then there was one (who nobody can remember the name of) who played with them even fewer times. Frustrations grew when Jokum came into the picture. With Jokum they did their one and only demo recordings in a home studio in Englerup and they performed live in front of an audience (of which several people was not specially invited by the band) for the first time. Jokum split soon after the concert and then they finally were joined with Rene Bertelsen. The band was now directed into a much more noisier landscape and in the scope of the next year they reached their artistic peak (which can be documented on several recordings done by Kreisholt). After a concert on Amager in September 1995 both Iversen and Bertelsen left the band. The Blowfish Dreamers was dead and gone but Madsen and Kreisholt still felt a need for rock and roll so they were joined by drummer (and vocalist) Jens Legaard. The new band was called Five Point Six. This band played one concert (which was taped on video by Iversen) in 1996. The band broke up in 1998. The last rehearsel session was attended by Iversen who also sat in on drums on the very last song played. In January 2000 Madsen and Iversen got together again. During this year they recorded several songs. The recordings continue in this year. Among the songs recorded was Madsens first new song in two years, I Just Can't Say. |
